Helping young people overcome barriers to learning

At Horizon, we work with local schools, offering both fully and part funded placements on our bike and woodwork project.

We provide a unique learning environment, where children learn at their own pace, receive individualised support from expert tutors and are helped to overcome barriers they face to learning. Our students build self-confidence and are supported to reengage with education, training or apprenticeships.

Our provision costs £900 per child, based on them attending a 6 week programme for 1 day per week. Local schools have children in desperate need of this provision but are unable to cover the costs. Your donation will help us provide part of fully funded placements to ensure our local children are able to access this opportunity and can look forward to a brighter future.

YMCA is the largest and the oldest charity working with young people in the world.  Across England there are 114 YMCAs.  Each one is a thriving and active community.  A community that is transforming lives.

At Thames Gateway Group we work in many diverse areas: Supported & Move on Accommodation; Health & Wellbeing programmes and activities; Family & Children’s Work; Youth Work; as well as delivering multiple community outreach programmes.

We focus on young people and help them play an active and fulfilling role within their communities.  We call this a youth minded community approach.

We are proud of our Christian heritage and ethos.  We are an inclusive Christian movement transforming communities.  We provide a wide array of community-based activities and services to help meet local needs wherever we are based.
