Supporting local young people into education, training and employment

We are raising funds to deliver an introductory Hospitality and Catering training programme for local young people across Dartford who are currently not in employment, education or training.  

This programme will help to break down the barriers that prevent some of our most vulnerable young people from progressing into education, training or employment. Delivered from our own cookery school, café area and training facilities, the programme combines classroom-based learning with practical, hands on experience. 

Your donation will help fund a fully accredited Hospitality and Catering qualification, alongside dedicated pastoral and mentoring support. Together, these elements will build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop self-belief, and equip young people with the skills, behaviours and experience needed to succeed in the workplace and achieve positive futures.

Part of YMCA Thames Gateway Group, YMCA Dartford provides accommodation and support services for Children in Care aged 16 & 17. We provide the support they need to map out what they want their future to look like and coaching to help them achieve it. We also provide supported accommodation for young people aged 18-30, offering all our residents a safe place to live, access to individually tailored support, the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and a chance to develop and thrive independently within our community.

We believe that all young people, regardless of their circumstances, should be given the opportunity to become the very best version of themselves and have access to the support they need to make this a reality.
