Story

On September 18th we will be taking part in a Skydive to raise money for YMCA Thames Gateway Group.

YMCA Thames Gateway is a charity that has been serving the local community for over 130 years. Whilst their focus is on young people, they work with all members of the community in the belief that everyone should be able to reach their full potential regardless of their background. Every night they provide supported accommodation for young people who are homeless locally. They also offer a range of health and wellbeing activities, nurseries, youth work and clubs to support the local community.

We decided to do a skydive for YMCATGG because we wanted to raise funds to support the excellent work they do supporting our community.  They make a huge difference to so many people of all ages.

At Thames Gateway Group we work in many diverse areas: Supported & Move on Accommodation; Health & Wellbeing programmes and activities; Family & Children’s Work; Youth Work; as well as delivering multiple community outreach programmes.

We focus on young people and help them play an active and fulfilling role within their communities.  We call this a youth minded community approach.
